On Christian Education Sunday, September 28, 2008,
Immanuel Lutheran Church and School is embarking on its second Annual Fund
campaign. Alumni, friends of the church and school, and members of
the congregation are invited to make a charitable donation to meet
various school needs that change from year to year. The 2008-2009 Annual
Fund has begun and will end June 30, 2009.
Since the school's founding in 1951, Immanuel's members
support to the school has been unwavering. While tuition receipts
and the additional support the school receives from the congregation in
the ministry plan covers the school's main operating expenses, we could
expand our ministry to more children and improve our ministry to
existing students if additional revenue was available.
Our goal for the 2008-2009 Annual Fund is to raise
$50,000. These monies would be
used for the following purposes:
Increase the funds available for the
school's financial aid program. Immanuel’s premise
is that no child should be denied a Christian education purely due
to financial reasons. Immanuel Lutheran School ardently seeks
financial aid for families from external and internal resources.
Nevertheless “needs” always outweigh our resources. A portion
of this year's Annual Fund will be designated for financial
aid to be awarded in the form of needs-based scholarships.
Enrichment Programs.
Gifts to our Annual Fund
enable ILS to ensure the widest range possible of enrichment
programs (music programs, art programs, sports programs, field
trips, etc.). Additionally, your gifts assist to maintain
competitive tuition rates as well as keeping highly qualified
teachers.
Perform physical plant improvements for
the school. The church and school is putting
together a plan to upgrade all the electrical wiring in the school,
install energy efficient windows, and possibly add air conditioning
for the elementary building. Funds are accumulated and set
aside for this multi-year project.
